Joseph Mensah, a talented gospel musician and scriptwriter, recently shared an embarrassing moment from his career that helped shape him into the refined man he is today according to a publication by Adom Online.
During a time when he was struggling to make a breakthrough in his career, he found comfort in music and pursued it with every ounce of effort he had. He performed at various events with the hope of meeting his destiny helper.
After one such event, a lead pastor embarrassed him by pointing out his pungent body odor. The elder advised him to apply deodorant and perfume to his armpits before coming to church. Despite this unsolicited advice, Joseph kept attending the church and ministering.
Joseph Mensah told host Abena Ghana on Adom TV's The Journey that despite the unsolicited advice, he continued to attend church and serve.
Joseph stated that the comment did not break him because he had faced worse embarrassments and lived in tougher situations. He could not be bothered because he had other pressing issues. Despite his poor personal hygiene, he barely had a roof over his head, and the one he managed was a disaster during the rainy season. Most nights he slept on an empty stomach to save money to record a demo.
His efforts paid off when he met a music engineer who offered to help him record most of his songs and his first album, which brought him to the spotlight. Currently, he has multiple songs to his credit and owns copyright to most scripts and soundtracks featured in Kumawood movies.
