The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Stephen Yakubu, expressed his appreciation for the New Patriotic Party's efforts in promoting development policies for Muslims in Zongo communities.
He specifically mentioned the Zongo Development Fund and the Nasara Wing of the Party as initiatives that have helped to accelerate education in these communities. According to Hon. Yakubu, the Party deliberately targeted the Muslim communities to ensure that everyone benefits from development.
He emphasized that the NPP is a development-oriented Party that is committed to creating a society where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of their social background. Hon. Yakubu made these remarks during the Eid-ul Fitr celebration in Bolgatanga, where he joined Muslims in the region.
Hon. Yakubu called on Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the Vice-President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, who is one of them, to become the next President of Ghana. He believes that this will enable him to continue the good works of the NPP. Additionally, he urged them to pray for peace in conflict-prone areas of the region, such as Bawku, Doba, Kandiga, Bongo-Soe, and Bolgatanga.
Hon. Yakubu stressed the importance of peaceful co-existence in achieving the necessary development in the region. He urged everyone to pray for lasting peace in the region and work towards maintaining it.
