On Monday, April 17th, 2023, the Buipe Fire Station received a distress call regarding an accident involving two DAF vehicles on the Buipe Tamale highway in the Savannah Region.
The rescuers promptly responded to the scene and discovered that there were people trapped in the vehicles. Without wasting any time, they quickly rescued the four victims and handed them over to the Ambulance Service for further assistance.
Out of the four victims, three were taken to the Buipe District Hospital, while the other one who was in critical condition was referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital. According to an eyewitness account, the accident was caused by over-speeding on the part of the driver of the DAF with registration number WR 2280-14, who hit the rear of the other DAF with registration number BF 6161-D 503.
