Nathan Kofi Boakye, a retired Police Chief and former Director-General in charge of Legal and Prosecution for the Ghana Police Service, has been appointed by the state and officially sworn in as a notary public for the Supreme Court of Ghana. This appointment was made alongside approximately 90 other influential individuals who are experienced lawyers in private practice, having worked with integrity for at least 10 years.

A notary public is a person authorized by the State to perform various official acts, including administering oaths, certifying documents, attesting to the authenticity of signatures, and conducting official tasks related to commercial matters, such as safeguarding negotiable instruments.

During his tenure as a Police Chief, Kofi Boakye gained popularity for his firm stance against corruption and crime in Ghana. He notably made several controversial arrests of public figures, including musicians and politicians. Upon his retirement, the Judicial Service of Ghana commended him for his dedicated and impactful service to the country's legal system, particularly as a member of the Judicial Council.

Chief Justice Anim Yeboah presided over the swearing-in ceremony for Kofi Boakye and other influential individuals, such as Gabby Asare Otchere Darko from the New Patriotic Party and Prof. Kenneth Attefuah from the National Identification Authority.

It is worth noting that Nathan Kofi Boakye's appointment as a notary public reflects the recognition of his expertise and integrity in legal matters, further extending his contribution to the Ghanaian judicial system.
