Royal Bombshell: Prince Harry Says He Was Born In Case His Brother Needed Organ Donation, Blood Transfusion

In his explosive memoir, Spare, Prince Harry tells more about his childhood and how he got along with the Prince of Wales.

Willy was born just in case something happened to him. Prince Harry says he always knew he was born in case his brother needed a kidney or blood transfusion.

In his explosive memoir, Spare, Prince Harry tells more about his childhood and how he got along with the Prince of Wales.

In the book, the Duke of Sussex, who is 38 years old, said that he grew up knowing he could give his older brother, Prince William, who is 40 years old, an organ if he needed one.

"I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy," he said, adding that his parents and grandparents used the terms "heir" and "spare" to refer to him and his brother.

He said that his "mission" in life was to "provide distraction, entertainment, and, if necessary, a spare part" to his brother, Prince William, in the form of a kidney, blood transfusion, or bone marrow.

The Daily Mail says that Harry talked about how the ideas of "heir" and "spare" had been drilled into him his whole life.

He said that he knew from a very young age that he was only in the world in case anything happened to William.

Throughout his life, he says, this idea was "regularly reinforced."

He said that his father, King Charles III, was said to have said to his wife, Prince Diana, William's mother, "Wonderful! You've already given me an heir and a spare, so I've done my job."

In another part of the shocking book, Prince Harry broke royal rules by talking about his dad's neck and back pain.

In his book, Prince Harry also wrote about how hard it was for King Charles to deal with "constant neck and back pain," which he said was partly caused by his father's polo injuries.

Harry also said that Prince William "reacted badly" to Meghan's hug when they first met. He called the awkward moment when he introduced his brother to his girlfriend as a "classic collision of cultures."

Prince Harry says that the meeting happened in late 2016 at the apartment of the Prince and Princess of Wales in Kensington Palace, just before Prince Harry and Prince William went on a shooting trip.

The duke said that he was more nervous for his girlfriend to meet William than anyone else on the short walk from their home, Nottingham Cottage, to Apartment 1A.

Harry says that when his brother William answered the door, he was "a little bit dressed up" in nice pants and a shirt.

He wrote, "I introduced Meg to him, and she leaned in and gave him a hug, which completely freaked him out. He drew back."

Prince Harry, on the other hand, said that his brother wouldn't usually hug someone he didn't know. He also said that Meghan's way of greeting people she doesn't know was to give them a hug.
