In a recent operation conducted by the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), a man named Owoseni Gabriel was apprehended. Gabriel had cleverly disguised himself as a woman in order to avoid being arrested. Alongside him, 32 other individuals were also taken into custody due to their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.
The arrests took place on May 2, 2023, at the Iyana Ipaja area in Lagos State. The EFCC had received reliable information regarding the activities of a group of young men engaged in fraudulent computer activities.
During the operation, Gabriel stood out as he had chosen to wear a female attire and a wig to deceive law enforcement and evade capture.
Once the investigations are completed, the suspects will be brought before the court to face legal proceedings. Among the items seized from the arrested individuals were two Toyota Camry vehicles (models from 2005 and 2009), as well as mobile phones and laptop computers, which are believed to be connected to their illicit activities, as stated by the EFCC.
