A man in his 30s who allegedly stole two large pots from Breman Kontenase in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa area of the Central Region has been arrested.
The suspect is a known thief who has been arrested for theft before, locals claim.
On Monday, 30 January 2023, at dawn, the suspect, identified as Kweku, allegedly entered the neighbourhood to steal.
When the owner of the pots confronted the suspect to stop him, he allegedly attempted to rape her, prompting her to call for help.
As they rushed to her aid after hearing her scream, neighbours spotted the suspect trying to steal the pots and arrested him.
Before being handed over to the police for investigation, he was forced to carry the stolen goods down the main street of Breman Kontenase community while chained to an electricity pole.
