Some Leaders In The Country Smoke Wee Yet Arrest Poor People For The Same Crime- Don Little Alleges

Don Little claims some top people in leadership positions smoke marijuana while arresting poor people for the same offence.

Don Little, a popular Kumawood artiste, has joined the growing list of prominent Ghanaians who support the legalisation of marijuana, also known as 'wee'.

Don Little recently shared his opinion during an interview with actress Emelia Brobbey on her Okukuseku the Talk show, that while some people smoke and smuggle wee in high places, poor people are arrested and imprisoned for the same crime. He claimed that the nation's officials were self-serving and hypocritical when it came to the substance.

Wee legalisation is not a terrible practice, according to Don Little, who identifies himself as a businessman involved in buying and selling, because it has been approved elsewhere and any business can be successful. He cited other countries that had legalised the substance and were now reaping the rewards.

But the system in Ghana is flawed and individuals are suffering as a result of the arbitrary application of the laws. While people without money are arrested, fined huge sums of money and even imprisoned if they are unable to pay the fines, those in high places are free to smuggle weed with impunity.

Don Little is the latest high-profile Ghanaian to support the marijuana legalisation movement. In recent years, a number of other celebrities, including singers and actresses, have come out in support of legalising the wee. They claim that making wee legal and under control could reduce crime and increase the nation's economic prosperity. Opponents of the concept claim that legalizing wee could encourage addiction and drug use. In Ghana, the debate is still raging and there is no obvious solution in sight.
