PRIMARY TEACHER is on the run because he or she is accused of molesting students and taking "photos" of the abuse.
Peter Mugomesi, who went to Mugwira Primary School in the Manoti area of the Gokwe South district in Midlands Province, went missing after pictures of him having sexual encounters got out and went viral.
In one of the pictures, the teacher can be seen touching a girl's breasts, and in another, the girl is sitting on his lap.
No one could tell if the pictures were taken in a school classroom or somewhere else.
A person who worked at the school but didn't want to be named said that Mugomesi always looked at students "with the hungry eyes of a predator."
"I always thought he looked at kids in an odd way. After hearing about the accusations, I think he looked at the people making them with the eyes of a hungry animal. He may have hurt a lot of children, and I hope they will have the courage to tell the police," the source said.
Jameson Machimbira, who is in charge of education in the Midlands province for the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, said that the Government would do something about Mugomesi.
"This is a very bad crime. The police are looking into the case, and I'm waiting for the report."

He said that there were two things being looked into.
"There are two problems here: one is a crime, and the other is a mistake on the job" (conduct). The teacher is being looked for by the police. The provincial education director said, "Of course, as the ministry, we will charge the teacher and make sure the minor gets the help he or she needs."
Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, a spokesman for the Midlands Provincial Police, also confirmed the news.
