The Men They Said They Had Were Station Boys – Mahama

Sat, 15 Apr 2023 Source: Club Mate

Former President John Dramani Mahama criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) by stating that the men they claimed to have were simply station boys with no knowledge. He expressed that Ghana was in better condition during his tenure in 2016 than it is presently under the NPP-led government.

Speaking to the delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on April 14th, Mr. Mahama, who is vying for the NDC's flagbearer position, stated that although Ghana was not a paradise in 2016, it was in a better situation than it is now. He accused the NPP of making false statements about the NDC and using persuasive language to gain support from Ghanaians. He further added that the NPP had promised to be a better government than the NDC, but this was not the case.

Mr. Mahama expressed his disappointment in the fact that the NPP's promises were unfounded and that the men they claimed to have were of no use. He highlighted that the ministers who ran the country during his tenure were far better than those in power today. Mr.

Mahama stated that he took responsibility for the challenges he inherited, such as the power crisis (Dumsor), and fixed them.

He acknowledged that the power crisis was not created by the NDC, but rather it was due to the lack of generation capacity over the years. He took responsibility for fixing the issue rather than shifting blame to others. He stated that his government fixed the power crisis and generational challenges, and they were even accused of putting in too much generation than was needed.
