Prof Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, a former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, has revealed that there are people in Jubilee House who are involved Galamsey.
He alleged that these individuals and other members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were plotting to remove him from office so that they could continue their illegal activities.
He revealed this in an interview with Accra-based GTV, saying his resignation had really let these people off the hook.
Prof Frimpong-Boateng alleged: There was a planned conspiracy even within the party and government to get me out. Why is it that after I left, everybody is in the forest?
You shouldn't be in the forest at this time. But I have a lot to say about that, so as I said, I don't want to go into details yet. But I can assure you that I did not use a single excavator. And you know the truth, he continued.
Prof Frimpong-Boateng, in an interview with Kwaku Sintim Misa, the king of sarcasm, comedy and talk show host, in May 2020, declared that Ghana was not worth dying for.
According to the good professor, working with stupid and ungrateful people is not easy.
His comments are thought to be a response to criticism and accusations made against him over the disappearance of some excavators and his involvement in illegal mining.
To clear up any confusion, the former minister told GTV that no excavators had gone missing and that the story was a fabrication and a staging.
However, he pointed out that the people who did it were known, but their identities were kept secret.
Now information is coming out. We are aware of the people responsible, the parties involved, government officials, including those at Jubilee House who continue to engage in galamsey and so on. So let Frimpong-Boateng be in his one corner side to enjoy in his retirement, he remarked.
