Those Who Think David Killed Goliath With The Power Of The Holy Spirit Are Wrong - Rev Father

Reverend Father Oluoma Chinenye John, affectionately known as Fada Oluoma, delivered a sermon titled "Spiritual Unction, Strategic Action" to the members of the Catholic Archdiocese in Abuja. During his message, he focused on the biblical account of David's victory over Goliath, challenging the belief that David relied solely on the power of the Holy Spirit for his triumph.

Father Oluoma emphasized that while David was indeed filled with the Holy Spirit, he also employed strategic action and wisdom to defeat Goliath. He highlighted the formidable nature of Goliath, who was fully armored and accompanied by a shield-bearing warrior. Father Oluoma pointed out that traditional weapons like arrows or spears would have been ineffective against such a heavily protected adversary. However, David's discernment and strategic thinking enabled him to identify the one vulnerable spot—the forehead—where he could strike Goliath.

Concluding his sermon, Father Oluoma emphasized the importance of combining spiritual unction with strategic action. He encouraged his congregation to learn from David's example and understand that the power of the Holy Spirit, while essential, must be complemented by wisdom and thoughtful planning.

In a video capturing his sermon, Father Oluoma expressed, "What we truly need is the fusion of spiritual unction and strategic action. How did David manage to defeat Goliath? Some believe it was solely through the power of the Holy Spirit, but they are mistaken. Yes, David was anointed and had the spirit of God, but it was his strategic action that led to Goliath's downfall."

He continued, "Goliath was a formidable opponent, fully protected from head to toe in armor. He even had a defender holding his shield. How does one confront such a man? Arrows or spears would have no effect. David recognized the vulnerability in Goliath's forehead, and he used strategic action and wisdom to exploit it. It was not solely the power of the Holy Spirit."

With his friendly demeanor and thought-provoking message, Father Oluoma encouraged his congregation to seek a balance between spiritual guidance and practical action, reminding them that, like David, they too can overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges with a combination of faith, wisdom, and strategic thinking.
