Since 2017, a senior police officer has been accused of soliciting sexual favours from a married subordinate.
The head of the police band department, Chief Inspector Cuthbert Gwidi, allegedly forced a 44-year-old band dancer to have sex with him.
He allegedly said he would cut her off if she didn't do as he wish.
Chief Inspector Gwidi is also accused of taking the woman to a hotel room where she was raped by a Victoria Falls councillor called Nleya.
The woman told her husband about the situation and her husband went to Harare Central Police Station to lodge a complaint against them.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, a spokesman for the national police, confirmed the case and said an investigation was under way.
Asst Comm Nyathi said: "Police are investigating a case of sexual abuse involving a senior band officer.
According to police sources, Chief Inspector Gwidi called the victim to his office sometime in 2017 and threatened to fire her if she didn't do what he asked.
"In 2017, the victim was raped in Gwidi's office and he threatened to stop her getting paid work if she told anyone.
"The victim stood her ground and went to the Police Complaints Unit to file a report against Gwidi, but it was all in vain. She was sexually assaulted by Councillor Nleya in 2019 at a hotel in Victoria Falls where they were supposed to perform at an event, the source said.
"Gwidi told the victim that she would be staying in a room with other dancers, but when she got there, she found Nleya, Gwidi and another person. Gwidi and the other person left the room, leaving the victim alone with Nleya. She was then raped.
