In a tragic incident, four employees of ZEFA Microfinance Bank were arrested after an unfortunate incident resulted in the death of Vivian Omo, a 50-year-old woman and the wife of a debtor. The incident took place at their residence in the Abule Ijoko Lemode area of Ifo local government in Ogun state. The police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident and provided details in a statement.

According to Oyeyemi, the four suspects, identified as Badmus Olalekan, Ajibade Oludare, Eniola Aduragbemi, and Femi Oloko, were apprehended by the state police command on Wednesday. The trouble began when the bank staff visited the deceased's home to collect a loan payment owed by her husband. However, they were informed that the husband was not present at the time. Dissatisfied with this explanation, the bank employees attempted to seize the household's electronics and transport them to their office. The deceased, resisting their actions, engaged in a struggle with the bank staff.

Tragically, during the altercation, one of the bank employees pushed Vivian Omo, causing her to fall unconscious. She was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. The deceased's daughter promptly reported the incident at the Agbado divisional headquarters, leading to the arrest of the four bank employees.

The remains of Vivian Omo have been transferred to the morgue at Ifo General Hospital for an autopsy. The Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Additionally, the Commissioner warned loan agencies against taking the law into their own hands during the process of loan recovery, emphasizing that anyone caught engaging in such actions would be arrested and prosecuted.
