Two lawyers ready to offer Prof. Frimpong-Boateng free legal services after he was sued for defamation
Lawyer Oliver Barker-Vormawor has generously offered to provide free legal services to Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng in response to the defamation lawsuit filed against him by Gabby Otchere-Darko. Barker-Vormawor expressed his gratitude towards Frimpong-Boateng for saving his brother's life when he was born with a hole in his heart, which was successfully treated at the Cardiothoracic Centre established by Frimpong-Boateng.
He recounted his childhood memory of depositing his lunch money at the Ghana Commercial Bank to support the Cardio Fund advertised on TV. Barker-Vormawor is willing to represent Frimpong-Boateng in court for free if he requires his services.
On the other hand, Otchere-Darko is seeking GHC10 million in general damages, including aggravated and/or exemplary damages, and an apology and retraction of the defamatory statements made against him by Frimpong-Boateng. Additionally, he is praying for a perpetual injunction to restrain Frimpong-Boateng, his servants, agents, or assigns from making similar or other defamatory remarks against him.
In response to Barker-Vormawor's offer, another Ghanaian lawyer, Mr. Richard Amarh, has also expressed his willingness to provide assistance for free if needed.
