Video: Bawumia Is Like Maguire Scoring Own Goals - Adongo - Adongo

Isaac Adongo, who is a member of parliament for Bolgatanga Central, has said that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is in charge of the economy, is not doing a good job.

Wednesday in Parliament, Mr. Adongo called Dr. Bawumia "Economic Maguire" and said that he was a threat to Ghana's economic growth.

The MP compared the Vice President to Harry Maguire, an English player for Manchester United who has become a threat to his team's defense because he has been scoring "own goals" and making it easier for the other team to score on his team.

The MP said that before the New Patriotic Party took power, Dr. Bawumia was called the "economic wizard" because he gave lectures on how to stop the cedi from falling and improve the economy.

He did say, though, that Dr. Bawumia is now acting like Harry Maguire since he became Head of the Economic Management Team. He is destroying the basic parts of the economy.

"This "Economic Maguire" went to Malata market, and we all cheered and said that this man is the best at managing foreign currency. The same "Economic Maguire" was giving lectures at Central University about how to bring the value of the cedi back up.

"Mr. Speaker, when we gave Maguire the chance to be in the middle of our defense, he turned into a threat to score on us. "Our economic wizard, Dr. Bawumia, is now going after all the core parts of our economy and destroying them all," he said from the floor.

The country's inflation rate is 40.4% right now, and the cedi will lose 53.8% of its value by 2022. This year, fuel prices have gone up more than three times, making it expensive to live.

Ghanaians have always complained about how hard things are financially and asked the government to do something to help.

The government is asking the International Monetary Fund for help with the economy right now because the country has a public debt of GH467.37 billion.
