Video: Why Ronaldo’s Poster Is Removed By Manchester United At Old Trafford

Wed, 16 Nov 2022 Source: Club Mate

Before this weekend's Rugby League World Cup, Manchester United removed a sizable mural of Cristiano Ronaldo from the front of Old Trafford and replaced it with Rugby League World Cup logos.

On the day the first segment of Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan is set to air, cranes were at United's stadium to assist with the removal of the Ronaldo poster from the Old Trafford forecourt.

The men's and women's Rugby League World Cup finals will be held at the stadium on Saturday, so it is believed that the poster was always scheduled to be taken down this week.

Prior to the championship final, which will feature Australia vs. New Zealand in the women's final at 1:15 p.m. and Australia vs. Samoa in the men's final at 4 p.m., branding will now be visible in the enormous space above the megastore at the forecourt.

Following the revelation that Ronaldo had given an explosive interview to Piers Morgan, which will air in its entirety on TalkTV on Wednesday and Thursday night, images of the Ronaldo poster being torn down have gained attention.

On Sunday night, the first clips from the interview were shared on social media. In them, Ronaldo accuses the team of "betraying him," and the forward claims Erik ten Hag has no respect from him.

And now it appears that the Portuguese international is being dealt with by the Red Devils, who have hidden him at Old Trafford. Workers were observed ripping the Adidas poster featuring Ronaldo from the stadium walls on Wednesday afternoon in order to promote the new home uniform.
