Watch How NDC Parliamentary Aspirant Sprayed Money On Delegates During Primaries

Witness the captivating scene during the NDC primaries in Ejura Sekyedumase, where Madam Juliana Kinang-Wassan, an NDC parliamentary aspirant, attracted a multitude of delegates and constituents with a unique display.

As she arrived at the voting center, she took it upon herself to distribute cash to the excited crowd surrounding her vehicle. The currency notes fluttered through the air, ranging from modest denominations of five cedi notes to more substantial sums of a hundred cedis. Interestingly, eyewitnesses claim that she even tossed some dollars into the mix. Although the exact total of the money sprayed remains unknown, a significant amount of both cedis and dollars was unquestionably showered in her determined pursuit of the Ejura seat.

Following the incident, Hon. Bawa, the incumbent MP who was present during the cash dispersion, shared his perspective during an interview. He calmly expressed his maturity as a politician, stating that he would never engage in such a public display of recklessness. Confidently, he declared that the incident would have no bearing on the election results, as his dedication and hard work for the constituency would ultimately secure his victory. I remain unperturbed by her actions. The status quo will prevail. I am winning this seat, and her actions do not change a thing, he assured.

Many people have criticized this act as shameful and called for condemnation from the NDC leadership. Expressing their disappointment, they questioned why politicians continue to engage in such practices rather than directing their energy towards public development.

Concerns were also raised about the source of the money, with some suggesting that immediate arrest is necessary to investigate its origin. "Where did she acquire such a substantial sum of money? Authorities should apprehend her. An aspirant showering money in the air while the country is on the brink of seeking assistance from the IMF will face opposition from discerning citizens. Such behavior is unacceptable here," they asserted.
