A video has surfaced online showing the moment the Ekweremadus, accompanied by their doctor, Obinna Obeta, received their sentencing from a judge at the Central Criminal Court, commonly known as Old Bailey. Back in March, the trio was found guilty of engaging in Organ trafficking.
Yesterday, on May 5, the judge pronounced the sentences: former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, was given a prison term of nine years and eight months, his wife Beatrice Ekweremadu received a sentence of four years and six months, while Obeta was sentenced to ten years behind bars.
According to the judge's remarks, Ekweremadu is expected to serve approximately five to six years in prison, which corresponds to about two-thirds of his total sentence. As for his wife, she will likely spend around two years incarcerated, which amounts to half of her total sentence of four-plus years.
