Elicah from Mombasa told a painful story about how her boss found out that she was sleeping in her house with her son, which she later regretted.
She says she was born and grew up in Mombasa. She finished high school and got married to a young man she met in her hometown. They were happy together until she had their first child.
She said that her husband had changed and started hurting her. He hardly had enough money to buy food or pay their rent. Because of this, she moved back to where she grew up. While she was at home, her mother paid for her college and took care of her child. She worked as a housekeeper in Saudi Arabia while she was in college. She told her mom about the job, but her mom didn't think it was a good idea. So, a few weeks later, she told her she had a new job in Dubai, even though she was still going to Saudi Arabia.
She said that she quit soon after, and that her boss was nice to her. She paid her on time and made sure that she had food and a place to stay. When her boss's son moved in with them, she said, things changed. He started making sexual moves on her, but at first she turned him down. But he told her that he would pay her well for her work, and she agreed. When her boss was out of town, she would sleep with him and get paid for it.
She said that this went on for months, and then one day they were caught. When she went to sleep with her boss's son, her boss was at work. Unfortunately, her boss got home before he was supposed to and caught them in her room.
Elicah said, "My boss caught us doing it in my room, and she started to beat me."
She said that her boss got mad and started hitting her hard. She hit her with a piece of metal, which broke her arm, and sent her running away without her papers. Because of this, she was left without a place to live, so the police arrested her and took her to the hospital. After she was taken care of, she was taken to the deportation camp. From there, she was sent back to Kenya.
She has told young girls who work in Arab countries to be careful and not accept money from their bosses or relatives of their bosses.
