The mother of the Member of Parliament for Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, Philip Atta Basoah, is deeply distressed by his passing, as stated by one of his uncles.

According to family sources, Mr. Basoah passed away early in the morning on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the age of 54 while receiving medical attention at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

His absence during a significant parliamentary vote to confirm President Akufo-Addo's ministerial appointments last Friday, March 24, 2023, was noted by many. However, Mr. Basoah's uncle, Akwasi Sarkodie, revealed to Adom FM's Kasiebo is Tasty program that the family only became aware of his disappearance during the voting process.

The uncle added that the news of his death came as a shock to the family, and it was difficult to break it to his mother. To help break the news to her, they sought the assistance of a prophetess. During the encounter, the prophetess prayed for the mother and asked if she believed in God, to which she replied yes.

The prophetess went on to inform the mother that God had called her son. While the mother expressed her gratitude to God for calling her son, she was heartbroken that she was the one burying her son rather than the other way around.
