What You Might Have Missed At Chairman Wontumi’s Mother’s Funeral
Over the weekend, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who is also known as Chairman Wontumi, laid his mother to rest in a solemn burial ceremony in Kuntase, a district in the Ashanti Region.
Madam Elizabeth Boampong Nyamekye, who passed away in November 2022 at the age of 64, was honoured with a star-studded event attended by individuals from the political, musical, and journalistic spheres.
It must be said the funeral was held in style and a lot of things happened which you might have missed.
During the ceremony, Chairman Wontumi’s wives made an impressive appearance, bringing drinks and gifts for their late mother-in-law’s family. While the politician danced with some family members and mourners, he was visibly grief-stricken when his mother's tribute was read, and he broke down in tears.
After the procession, gospel musician Jack Alolome provided an electrifying performance, lifting the spirits of the attendees.
Additionally, Adowa guru, Maame Ode, entertained the audience with some traditional dance moves, welcoming presenter Delay, who had arrived to offer her condolences to Chairman Wontumi.
