Every year, the instant messaging app WhatsApp stops working on a few phones, and this year is no different. As 2022 comes to a close, WhatsApp will stop working on some Android phones and a few iPhone models.
Even though this sounds scary, most users don't need to worry because the messaging platform is only ending support for phones with old operating systems.
GizChina was the first to report that the instant messaging platform will stop working with nearly 49 smartphones on December 31. This includes Apple, Samsung, and many other brands.
This just means that after the date given, people with those phones won't be able to get updates from WhatsApp, such as new features or security updates. Eventually, the service will stop working for them. Now, it's important to note that most of the phones on the list are years old, and it's likely that only a small number of people use them.
Some of them are so old that there might not even be anyone using them. This just means that most people who use smartphones shouldn't worry about WhatsApp ending support.
