"Thank God if you've seen him, but where is he? Christiana Atsupie told crimecheckghana.org in an exclusive interview, "Nobody knows where my brother is and it's keeping me awake at night".
In an earlier interview with crimecheckghana.org, his agent Murat Uzunmehmet confirmed that the player's apartment had been affected by the earthquake.
It later emerged that the player had been rescued after being trapped in the rubble for more than 26 hours. His team, Hatayaspor, issued an official statement saying he was "safe and sound".
But a day after the statement, neither his team, Hatayaspor, nor his agent, Murat Uzunmehment, know where he is being treated.
"I don't know if my brother has been rescued or not. I'm very confused at the moment.
"This is a difficult situation for everyone. I know the team are doing everything they can to find their family members and teammates, but why would you put out a statement saying he's safe when you haven't seen him?" she asked.
But at the time of writing, the club's doctor, Gurbey Kahveci, was quoted as saying: "When we heard he was taken to Dortyol Hospital, we went there specifically to look for him, but we didn't find him. For now, we have to accept that Savut Taner, the sporting director, and Christian Atsu have not been found.
