Captain Smart, the host of Maakye, said on January 18, 2023, that after the 2024 election, John Dramani Mahama might end the time when the NDC-NPP dominated Ghanaian politics.
He says that former President Mahama will win the National Democratic Congress elections in 2024. This will end the power duopoly of the elephant and umbrella fraternities.
Captain Smart has told the NPP to forget about the 2024 elections because the Akufo-Addo government has done such a bad job of running the economy.
Even though the NDC hasn't chosen its flagbearer yet, it's clear that John Mahama will be chosen to lead the party again based on comments from party members in their communications and especially during their primaries.
If he wins the NDC primaries, John Mahama will be running for president for the fourth time. In 2012, when President Mills died, Mahama took over from him.
"NPP and NDC will no longer exist after John Mahama leaves office in 2024. There is nothing you can do to stop Mahama from winning the 2024 election. If we vote for the NPP again, we'll have even more trouble than we do now. Just think for a second about how Judas helped Jesus after he was betrayed by a Judas. Mahama will have to clean up every mess that Nana Addo makes. If John Mahama allows himself, he will solve all the mess Nana Addo has created. But he will do worse than Nana Addo if he doesn't. And that will end NDC and NPP. But Mahama will come whether you like it or not," he said.
