Nacee, a well-known gospel musician whose real name is Nana Osei, recently expressed his opinion that Pieisie Esther should be awarded the prestigious title of ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). During an interview with Amansan Krakye, Nacee firmly stated that it would be a blatant case of injustice if Pieisie Esther is not declared the winner of this top honor.
Nacee argued that the facts speak for themselves, and that Pieisie Esther's hit single "Waye Me Yie" has been trending for a significant amount of time since its release, and continues to top the charts. Comparing this to the songs of her competitors, Nacee believes that the evidence is clear and that there is no justification for any other artist to be awarded the title.
Additionally, Nacee rejected the idea that international performances, such as those of rising star Black Sherif, should be a deciding factor in the selection of the VGMA Artiste of the Year. He believes that the category should focus solely on Ghanaian music and not be influenced by international accolades or concerts. While Nacee acknowledges that all the nominees are deserving, he is passionate about his support for Pieisie Esther and believes she is the clear winner.
