You Are The Reason Ghana is Bankrupt - Financial Expert ‘Fingers’ John Mahama

A financial expert told former President John Mahama to keep quiet and never try to blame President Akufo-government Addo's for Ghana's financial problems.

Mr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey said that the former President has no right to talk about the topic because he knows that the two biggest problems that led to Ghana going bankrupt were caused by how badly he ran the country's economy.

During a studio discussion on Wontumi TV that was watched by Wontumionline, Mr. Kyei-Brobbey said that Mr. John Mahama doesn't have to be the one to teach Ghanaians about their debts.

"If he knows that Ghana is broke, then he should shut up. He made Ghana's financial problems worse. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey said, "He has a lot riding on it."

The financial expert said that the government led by Akufo-Addo didn't have to worry about going bankrupt because two major problems started by the government of former President John Mahama had put Ghana in this mess.

"One of them is the problem with the banking sector. GHC25 billion was used to clean up the sector and save the money of 4.5 million Ghanaian depositors. "As the sector was cleaned up, 81,700 investors were also safe," he said.

He went on to say that Ghana's banking sector was still strong before former President John Agyekum Kufuor left office and the Mills-Mahama government took over.

"This was a strong sector that former President Kufuor gave to Mills and Mahama, but they messed it up before leaving office...

Banks were asking people to come to them for loans. The banking sector was more like a well-fed cow that Kufuor gave to Mahama, but before Mahama left office, the well-fed cow was throwing up blood and had lost weight, he said.
