You Will Go Hungry And Broke If You Do Music In Ghana

If you want to make music in Ghana, you'll end up broke and hungry. DDT (De Thompson)

De Thompson DDT, who was born Elijah Nortey Thompson and is a sound engineer and musician, has said that making music in Ghana will leave you broke and hungry.

He said, "As far as Ghana is concerned, if you decide to make music here, you might go hungry and that's true, so if anybody says they have made it through music, they are lying".

According to the music producer and singer of 'Yeni Da Ho', it's hard to make money in Ghana's entertainment industry because you have to invest a lot of money.

"Let me tell you, when somebody says he has made it in movies or music, it's impossible because the only way you can make money in the entertainment business is through football," he said.

"Because in music, you have to spend a lot of money to record your song and make a music video, but everywhere you take the song, you have to pay before they'll play it," he told Cape Coast-based Property Radio.

"The only time you make money from music is when you get paid to perform at a show, but if the song doesn't reach that peak, how do you get your money back?" he told Amansan Krakye via Showbiz on Property.
