According to a publication by Daily Guide News Network, the police have confirmed that Albert Donkor, who died amidst controversy between his family and law enforcement, was indeed an armed robber.
The police briefed Donkor's parents after investigations into the alleged robbery, which ended in a gunfight between the robbers and law enforcement.
The police report explains that the robbers opened fire on the police and fled into nearby bushes, and the police gave chase. The police found BB cartridges and mobile phones as evidence during their search of the area. The police analysis of the Call Data Records showed that Donkor was at the scene of the robbery.
Forensic investigation found Donkor's phone, which contained a picture of a Rugger pistol with the serial number and a photo of Donkor's Voters' ID card.
The police also confirmed that the grey hoodie retrieved from the scene belonged to Donkor. Although Donkor was found with gunshot wounds and rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

When the news of Donkor's death broke, some youths in Nkoranza launched a protest, causing damage to police property and vehicles. The police reinforcement team responded and restored law and order, but one of the eight suspects sent for treatment at St. Theresa's Hospital, Nkoranza, Victor Kwadwo Owusu, died from his injuries.
