The New Patriotic Party (NPP) elections committee in Ghana has requested that Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku complete and resubmit his nomination forms.

On June 19, 2023, when he visited the party headquarters to submit his forms, it was discovered upon inspection that they were incomplete.
Although the specific additions and corrections required have not been disclosed to the media, sources at the party headquarters have indicated that the elections committee is prepared to receive Dr. Apraku once he returns with the completed forms. Certain documents, such as his curriculum vitae and personal contributions to the party, were omitted from the nomination document initially submitted.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, meanwhile, has expressed apathy towards the large throngs that have accompanied the filing of nomination forms by other NPP candidates. Following the submittal of his forms at the party headquarters on June 19, Dr. Akoto addressed the press and explained that he chose to present his forms only to key members of his campaign team rather than arranging transportation for supporters.
Dr. Akoto thanked his delegates and constituency chairmen, who came voluntarily to the party headquarters to support his candidacy. He urged his supporters to remain committed to the objective of electing him as the NPP's candidate.
He stated, "I want to emphasize that everyone assembled here, including farmers' representatives, is here by their own volition. There are no organized mobs or buses transporting supporters to my side. People have come because they believe that my leadership will be advantageous for Ghana and the NPP, and I am extremely grateful."
The deadline for the submission of nomination forms for the NPP flagbearer election is slated for June 24.
