Abeka Dauda Anvegyene, the Special Aide to the former national chairman of NPP and former Ellembelle MP, Freddie Blay, has been vetted and cleared by the vetting committee to contest in the Ellembelle NPP parliamentary primaries of the Western region.

Immediately after the vetting, balloting was conducted and he picked the number two position.

The vetting was held in Takoradi and chaired by the NPP National Nasara Coordinator, Aziz Futa.

The former Ellembelle NPP Deputy Communications Director, Abeka Dauda is challenging the three times failed Ellembelle NPP parliamentary candidate, Kwasi Bonzoh.

Ellembelle parliamentary seat is being occupied by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah on the ticket of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking to the media after his successful vetting, Abeka Dauda Anvegyene thanked God for giving him life to participate in the event.

He also thanked the rank and file of the party for backing him to contesting in the parliamentary primaries in Ellembelle constituency.

"I'm very happy to see this special day in life, I thank God. Let me also thank the rank and file of the party for backing me. The grassroots are solidly behind me, they have been calling me to contest and I can't disappoint them, I'm going to contest and nothing can prevent me", he stated.

He pledged his total commitment to defeat Kwasi Bonzoh who is the current Ellembelle District Chief Executive (DCE) in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

"Now that I have been cleared by the national vetting committee to contest in the parliamentary primaries, I'm starting my campaign now and I'm going to do everything possible to defeat Kwasi Bonzoh who has contested as Ellembelle NPP parliamentary candidate on three terms and failed all. Kwasi Bonzoh and his constituency executives tried everything possible to disqualify me but they couldn't because I'm a recognized NPP member, I recently contested as a Regional Nasara Coordinator", he said.

"I want to tell Kwasi Bonzoh and the Ellembelle NPP constituency executives that the NPP party doesn't belong to them to prevent me from contesting, instead of the Ellembelle constituency executives to be neutral in this important contest, they are supporting Kwasi Bonzoh against me, their agenda against me will not work at all, I'm going to defeat Kwasi Bonzoh on December 2", he added.

He said the only NPP member who could unseat Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah in 2024 was him.

"Kwasi Bonzoh can't unseat Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah in 2024 because he has tried him three times and a time has come for me to represent Ellembelle NPP to unseat Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah and I'm ever ready to unseat Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah in 2024", he stated.

He, took the opportunity to call on the delegates in the constituency to vote massively for him to capture the seat for NPP for the first time since 1992.

The Ellembelle parliamentary election is slated for Saturday, December 2, 2023.
