James Gyakye Quayson, the MP for Assin North, has received advice from former Tamale Central MP Inusah Fuseini to prepare for the worst before his trial hearing.
He said that because Mr. Quayson is a victim of the government's "persecution," the trial might not turn out in his favour.
He remarked on Kumasi-based Hello FM, "I've already given my advice on air that if government persecutes you like Akufo-Addo is doing to Gyakye Quayson, Gyakye Quayson must prepare for the worse."
The lawmaker is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, said Mr. Inusah.
Mr. Quayson is on trial for counts like forgery and perjury, among others.
Despite numerous legal actions being brought at the Accra High Court, the court has ruled that nothing prevents it from moving forward with the case.
