Alhaji Akambi, a board member for Accra Hearts of Oak, claims that the team is entirely in favour of implementing the new league format.
As the GFA prepares to introduce the league as early as the 2024–2025 season, he makes these remarks.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko were lauded for their significant contributions to the autonomous league's operations by Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, chairman of the Ghana Licencing Board.
In an interview, Alhaji Akambi reiterated this claim and provided some justifications.
"We are learning about what is going on in Europe, and if we are learning, we need to learn quickly so that we can catch up with them, so I fully support the autonomous league."
I had believed that we would begin this upcoming season, but due to a slight delay, we were unable to. But I'm sure we'll be ready before then, and it'll take off in 2024 or 2025," he remarked.
