New Website Launched to improve Agricultural Sector

CABI has released a new website titled Skills for Agriculture to aid in the professional development of agricultural workers.

The tool can be used in a variety of ways by workers, employers, and educators, such as for creating job descriptions, assisting with career planning and training needs, and pinpointing areas where instruction is lacking.

The Skills for Agriculture (SfA) framework is the basis for the Skills for Agriculture (SfA) website, which was developed by CABI with help from individuals all over the world. This is the universally acknowledged common language for describing abilities relevant to certain jobs in the agriculture industry.

The new version enhances the previous one in several significant ways. The skill set has been streamlined to eliminate unnecessary entries and improve accessibility. They have been categorised into tiers for easier tracking of available advancement paths. Additionally, courses from industry leaders have been matched to the competencies.

In addition to CABI Academy, CABI's global training service with over 16,000 registered users, Skills for Agriculture serves the agricultural sector.

Under the CABI Academy brand, CABI offers a variety of products and services, such as a library of high-quality digital teaching and learning resources, hands-on in-person training, and blended change programmes that combine independent study with instructor-led seminars and online materials.

"The original framework focussed solely on the farmer advisor types of role," explained CABI's Digital Learning Manager Mark Berthelemy. The new framework allows us to define the various paths that anyone might take to become a farmer advisor.

These modifications are the product of ongoing discussions with companies and employees all over the globe.

Crops, Extension and Advisory Services, Relationships, Business, and Behaviours are only some of the categories that the talents are broken down into. There is an overview, some advice on how to use it, and a level description for each talent.
