TWO MEN lost their lives on Monday along the Ejura-Nkwanta-Nyinase road in the Ashanti Region after some unknown hoodlums opened fire on them during a robbery operation.
The robbers attacked and robbed a family of three.
During the attack, the trigger-happy miscreants, without provocation, shot three people at close range and bolted with an unspecified cash.
Unfortunately, one of the victims, who was identified as Kipo Sumaila, gave up the ghost right at the scene of the robbery operation.
The two other victims, Ibrahim Iddrisu and Masawudu Sumaila, who also sustained gunshot wounds, were rushed to the hospital.
According to a police release, issued by ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO, victim Ibrahim also died at the hospital.
“Victim Ibrahim Iddrisu died while receiving treatment, while Masawudu Sumaila has been treated and discharged from the hospital.”
ASP Ahianyo disclosed that the unidentified hoodlums managed to flee from the robbery scene with their stolen booty (money).
According to him, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has intensified search in order to apprehend perpetrators to face the law.
“We wish to assure the family and the public that the Police are pursuing the perpetrators and will surely get them arrested to face justice,” he said.
