Sergeant Titus Avoka Azasiyande, a dedicated police sergeant stationed at the Bia-Tano Forest checkpoint in the Ashanti Region, has been shot and murdered by an unidentified assailant.
On Thursday morning, the lifeless corpse of Sergeant Avoka Azasiyande was discovered by a passing dump truck driver en route from Kasapin to Bediako.
The deceased officer was discovered lying atop his AK-47 along with an empty shell next to him.
The circumstances surrounding this tragic occurrence are currently being investigated.
After discovering the lifeless body of Sergeant Titus Avoka Azasiyande, the chauffeur immediately notified the authorities.
The police arrived at the site and transported the body to the Goaso mortuary in order to preserve it for an autopsy.
The authorities are still in the process of identifying the perpetrators and determining the motivation for this heinous crime.
Sergeant Avoka Azasiyande had been assigned to the remote Tano Forest Snap Check in the Ashanti Region.
During the investigation, the police recovered a number of items from the crime site, including Sergeant Avoka Azisiyande's Vivo cell phone, food packaged in polythene bags and his Honda motorcycle.
