Has Samuel Okudzeto Been Appointed A "Chief Justice" In Charge Of the National Cathedral Issues?

Thu, 1 Sep 2022 Source: gabsfeed.live

The National Cathedral has been the subject of public debate for several months. President Nana Addo is remembered for pointing out that the cathedral is a "personal promise to God."

Many Ghanaians, including Onua TV's Captain (Rtd) Sowu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Captain Smart, have vehemently opposed any move to channel government funds into the National Cathedral project.

There are reports that the government has poured huge sums into the project without parliamentary approval. There are also claims that the National Cathedral project ignored procurement procedures.

Finally, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, the Executive Director of the National Cathedral announced the cancellation of the project due to a lack of funds.

TV journalist Captain Smart has asked, "whether the 300 million GHS donated was not used for the intended purpose".

Interestingly, TV3 Ghana posted an image of the Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on its heavily trafficked social media platform.

The post's caption disrupted a request from the North Tongu MP. The MP has called for full accountability for all funds made available.

The MP was also quoted as claiming that despite the project being suspended, he had evidence of "illegal" withdrawals.

Why would the MP think there were illegal withdrawals? What Makes Withdrawals Illegal? Many Ghanaians have reacted to Samuel Okudzeto's comments, as some concerned citizens applauded his efforts.

Other citizens have directed MP Sam Okudzeto to go to court if he believes there has been illegality.

Has Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa been appointed “Attorney General” in charge of National Cathedral affairs to take the matter to court? Should the honourable MP be celebrated for his efforts?

What do you think of the ongoing discussion?
