Pastor Abiodu is said to have asked the victim's mother to send her over to the church premises for special prayers, but when she got there he took her to a compartment inside the church and slept with her, resulting in early pregnancy.
Pastor Michael Abiodu of Light House Gospel Church, Oluwo, Owode Egba, has been arrested for allegedly having intercourse with the 12-year-old daughter of a member of his church and got her pregnant in the end.
The 48-year-old cleric was arrested after news reached Owode Egba Division headquarters that the victim's mother had gone to the church over a spiritual issue that led to the deaths of two of her daughters.
To save the victim from the same tragedy, she ran to the church for freedom.
According to the information, Owode Egba's DPO department, CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola, deployed his investigators to the crime scene, where the pastor was fast arrested.
Under inquiry, he admitted to the crime but accused Satan. He further confessed that he was the one who defiled the victim, a form 2 student.
The victim's mother told police she only go to know about her daughter's pregnancy 7 months later.
The victim, who gave birth three months ago, told police the pastor intimidated her with reckless aftermaths if she told anyone what happened between them, and that's why she said her mother didn't disclose the sad incident to anyone.
State Police Command P.R.O, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi attested to the incident, saying the Police Commissioner CP Lanre Bankole ordered the suspect's transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further examination and possible punishment.
