Alan Kyerematen and Bukom Banku shine at the Launch of the Nshona Rave Sports Festival

The highly anticipated launch of Ghana’s first Sports festival, Nshona Rave, was a thrilling success. Renowned political leader Alan Kyerematen, major celebrities and distinguished members of Ghana’s Boxing community attended the launch which took place at the Bukom Boxing Arena.




Nshona Rave is an exciting new event that will shake up Ghana’s festive season calendar. The sports festival will take place on Friday 22nd December 2023 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Jamestown from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The event promises a refreshing experience for Ghanaians and Diasporans with a diverse lineup that includes:

-A professional boxing tournament featuring some of Ghana’s best boxers

- Musical performances by rising stars like Cina Soul, DJ Azonto, King Jerry, Nii Funny and Herman Suede

- An Esports tournament

- Food & Drink Vendors

Nshona Rave is powered by Maja Media, a rising Ghanaian advertising company and Wisdom Boxing Promotions led by Dr. Coach Ofori Asare, Head coach of the Black Bombers, Ghana’s Olympic Boxing team. Organizers of the festival explained, “We developed Nshona Rave to serve as an exciting platform for discovering Ghana's new rising stars in sports and entertainment. We are trying to offer fans something unique and fresh that will create memorable moments for them”

Alan Kyerematen, Independent presidential candidate for the 2024 elections and leader of the Movement for Change, endorsed the Nshona Rave Festival and pledged his support for its mission to drive youth development through sports and creative arts. He explained, “Sports and Boxing in particular can play a very important role in National Development. Major sporting events like Nshona Rave and more can bring significant revenue and investment from tourism into communities like Jamestown. According to Hon. Kyeremanten, “With support from both the Private and Public Sector, Bukom could become the Las Vegas of Ghana”. After his speech, Alan Kyerematen and the famous former African Champion Bukom Banku, thrilled guests by engaging in a friendly bout of shadow boxing. This moment has since gone viral with thousands of people sharing the video and giving their own commentary online.
