Former Member of Parliament for Offinso

North, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku has

indicated that he is confident of becoming

the next flagbearer of the ruling New

Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, his vast experience over

the years gives him a better chance to beat

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and

any other candidate that will contest the

flagbearer race.

Speaking to Citi News on Tuesday, Dr. Kofi

Kanadu Apraku disclosed that unlike in

2007 when he only polled 17 votes when he

contested, he believes this is his time.

"The last/time I went I was number 3. There

are many reasons for that. I believe that

times are different and I have been around

the country. As I indicated earlier I have

been in 14 out of the 16 regions in our

country today and I'm confident that my

experience is now what is prevailing. I think

I'm better positioned than ever before to

lead this country.

' I stand very tall among them [other

aspirants]. My experience is overwhelming,

so practical experience in managing

economies, practical experience in dealing

with current problems, my experience, my

knowledge of this party from its formative

period, I believe 1 have a better chance than

anybody in this race to win this," Dr. Kofi

Konadu Apraku stressed.

Besides Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Joe

Ghartey/and Alan Kyerematen have also

decared their intentions to contest the NPP

flagbearership.

Vice Presidet Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and

former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr.

Owusu Afriyie Akoto are also reportedly

eyeing the slot to lead the NPP into the

2024 general elections.
