Two people were burned to death and two others were hurt very badly when a Hyundai Salon car and two other articulator vehicles crashed head-on at Tonnisco Quarry Junction, near Gomoa Potsin Junction on the Kasoa–Winneba–Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.
There was an accident involving a Hyundai Elantra salon car with the license plate number GW 4260-22 and two Articulator vehicles with the license plates GL 736-13 and GS 3913-11.
Eric Owusu Amponsah says that the Saloon car made an illegal overtake and hit the first articulator vehicle with the registration number GL 736-13. The second vehicle also hit the first articulator in the middle of the highway.
A witness, Kwame Tawiah, said that two people in the first articulator vehicle were burned alive after the crash, while two other people in the Saloon car were rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the second articulator vehicle, Inusah Alidu, said that they tried to help the people who were hurt, but the fire stopped them.
In the meantime, the police and the Ghana National Fire Service have started looking into what happened.
