Some people who work in commercial sex in Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region, shockingly said, "We've lowered our prices to make Christmas fun for you, so come see us."
As the world gets ready for Christmas, the prostitutes told the reporter that business has been slow since the economic crisis started, so they are thinking of ways to get more clients.
"Since people have been complaining about how hard things are right now, business has been bad for a while. Most of our customers have stopped coming because they can't afford our prices ".
Some sex workers said, "Before the economic crisis, we used to charge at least Ghc50 for a short time and on average Ghc150 for night service, but as we speak to you now, we barely get half of that, and this is a big problem for us."
But they are asking men to come to them for their services because they are willing to lower the price to help them out of their financial troubles.
Prostitutes told Bryt fm's Nyarko Abronoma, "We know things are hard right now, so we are willing to take as little as Gh20 for a short time and Ghc80-100 for a night service."
Over the past few years, the number of commercial sex workers in Koforidua has grown, which has put a lot of stress on the city government, which hasn't been able to get rid of them.
Most of these sex workers have left Kasoa and Accra because city officials kicked them out.
