BBC News recently said that a bride named Khadija Abdullahi in Kano State was hit in the eye with a stone during her wedding party. Her husband, Hamza Bala, has called for those who did this to be punished. Hamza told the BBC how everything went down in an interview.

He said that the incident happened on one of their most important weekends. His wife, along with her friends and family, called a DJ to play music for them in front of their house in the Kwalajawa area. They didn't know that their dancing and happiness would turn bad when some vigilantes showed up and started a fight. The only person hurt in this fight was his wife.
He said, "As part of our wedding party, my bride and her family set up traditional DJ music. Then we heard that some vigilantes had stormed the place.
"I got a call telling me that my wife had fallen and hit her head. She was taken to the hospital. When I got there, she was crying and had a bandage over her eye. I was told that someone hit her with a stone during the fight.
"Eye doctors say her eye will heal, but we still need justice so that the people who hurt her won't get away with it."
Two people have been arrested in this case, the police said.
