A WOMAN bodybuilder is showing the doubters her titles and accomplishments to set the record straight about her crazy body.
Shanique Grant, also known as "The Future," dominated the Women's Physique division. At the age of 23, she became the youngest Ms. Olympia.
At the 2016 New York Pro, which was also her first Women's Physique competition, she won her first professional competition.
In 2018, Grant won her first Women's Physique Olympia title. At the Arnold Classic, she also won the Women's Physique International title.
The next year, she was able to keep her Olympia crown.
I went from wanting to be a model to being Ms. Olympia, which is a big change.
I have the best body in the world. After bodybuilding, I can't even recognize myself.
In 2020, she came in second place at the Ms. Olympia competition, and the judges gave the title to Sarah Villegas instead.
In the same year, Grant said she was done with bodybuilding competitions and started putting more effort into her YouTube videos and talking to her fans.
"Shanique Grant, the bodybuilder, might be leaving, but I'm still here for you guys, my fans," Grant said on her YouTube channel.
"Of course, I'll still be lifting weights at the gym. There will be so much more coming.
Grant got into fitness at a young age because she was bullied when she was in high school.
She told Muscular Development Online that one of her classmates was "obsessed" with her.
"Grant told the channel, "I think a lot of people can understand when there's a big person and a little person, and the big person feels like they can pick on you because they're bigger."
"I kept to myself a lot in high school. I've always been a shy person who didn't talk to many people. Just went to school and went home, and this one girl didn't like me from freshman to senior year.
"I didn't do anything wrong. I went about my business and went to class, but she seemed to be obsessed with me, and I still don't know why. But she tried to hurt me almost every day, "she said.
Grant didn't feel like herself and knew she had to do something.
This is when she tried fitness as a way to start over, and she went on to beat everyone else.
