Professor And His Wife Found Dead In Their Home

Thu, 19 Jan 2023 Source: iNews

On Tuesday, the body of a Nigerian professor named Marinus Iwuchukwu was found on Thorncrest Drive in Wilkins Township, which is near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in the United States.

In the same place, the body of a woman named Charce Dunn was found next to Iwuchukwu.

Allegheny County Police say that the two people died around 10 a.m. yesterday after a "domestic disturbance."

It said that they had gotten a call to check on a couple in their home.

A third party told the police that the male resident could not be reached and that the man had been stabbed. A woman with a weapon stayed inside the house.

Action News 4 in Pittsburgh says that when the SWAT team went into the house, they found a 59-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman dead.

Police said that both of them had cuts on their skin, and the woman had a gunshot wound that looked like she did it to herself.

The police said that a probe has been started into the serious event, which is thought to be a murder-suicide.

Duquesne Catholic University, where Iwuchukwu worked as an associate professor of theology until his death, was saddened by the news and sent condolences to his family and friends.

The university's spokesman, Gabriel Welsch, said in a statement, "This is a tragedy for everyone involved, and our thoughts and prayers are with Professor Iwuchukwu's colleagues, students, friends, and family."
