Residents of Bulawayo's Mahatshula suburb woke up to the strange sight of an old man who was naked and said he was a wizard who had fallen from the sky.
Residents say that a man in a birthday suit named Chihwa told people, including the prophet Blessed Moyo, that he fell from a winnowing basket on Wednesday at lunchtime. The man without clothes said he was from Chimanimani.
People were mesmerized by the man's story of how he fell out of the basket and hurt himself all over.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, B-Metro went to the scene, but Chihwa had already been taken to the hospital.
When Blessed Ncube first saw the old man, he was in front of her yard. She took pictures and put them on a WhatsApp group for residents. The picture quickly went viral, and people gathered to see the show.
"There is a naked man in front of our gate. Please come help," her message to the group said.
Ncube said that the man told them he was hungry, so her neighbors worked together to feed him.
She said, "We fed him, and then he started talking and told us he was from Chimanimani."
Prophet Moyo said, "First I gave him clothes to wear, and then I fed him."
The prophet said that after he opened up, he prayed for him.
"He was talking in ChiNdau and said he hurt himself when he fell out of a winnowing basket. He was hurt everywhere on his body. Moyo said, "He said a spiritual force pulled him down."
