On Tuesday, July 25, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the appointment of several ministers.
In consultation with the Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and Roads and Highways, respectively, the President has appointed Mavis Nkansah Boadu, Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East, as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and Member of Parliament for Tatale/Sanguli, Hon. Thomas Mb.
Freda Prempeh, Minister of State at the Presidency and Member of Parliament for Tano North, was also appointed Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources by the president.
She succeeds the Honourable Cecilia Abena Dapaah, whose letter of resignation dated 22 July 2023 was accepted by the President on 22 July 2023.
Abena Dapaah tendered her resignation on Saturday, July 22, less than twenty-four hours after the public discussion of her misappropriated funds.

Accepting her resignation, President Akufo-Addo praised the former Bantama representative's "excellent and productive" performance.
"It is with great regret that I accept your resignation, and I commend your dedication to the reputation and image of the government," he wrote in a letter dated Saturday.
"The work you performed during your time in government was excellent and fruitful, and I appreciate your unwavering commitment to the advancement of the government and the nation."
In her resignation letter, Madam Abena Dapaah assured all state agencies of her availability and cooperation to investigate her case, which she admits has become a "hindrance" to the government at this "crucial" time.
In her resignation letter, she stated, "I have no doubt that, at the conclusion of the processes, it will be determined that I conducted myself with integrity during my time in public service and that I will be exonerated of all allegations."
In addition, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence that "in the end, your integrity while in office will be fully established."
The theft of $1 million, €300,000, and millions of unspecified Ghana Cedis has been brought before the court. The recall is scheduled for Wednesday, August 2.
