Members of the Police Management Board, led by the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, joined retired Superintendent Kofi Agyei (Rtd.) to celebrate his 90th birthday on Friday, July 28, 2023.
Mr. Kofi Agyei, who the Police Service describes as an accomplished detective, joined the service in August 1954.
On July 28, 1933, he was born at Assin Akonfudi in the Central Region.
During his active duty, the retired detective worked in Sekondi, Kumasi, Sampa, Sunyani, Tepa, Kumasi Zongo, Mampong, and at the CID headquarters.
In 1978, he entered the Police Academy and was named the best cadet officer for Course 17.
He retired in 1988 as a Superintendent of Police with an unblemished record after rising through the ranks.
During his service, he received two High Commendation Awards for investigations.
