Special Prosecutor Provides Update On Cecilia Dapaah’s Investigation

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) provided an update on its investigation into the larceny case involving Cecilia Dapaah.

The Special Prosecutor is investigating the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources for alleged corruption and corruption-related crimes involving large sums of money and valuable items allegedly stolen from her home.

Special Prosecutor arrested Cecilia Abena Dapaah on Monday and conducted a search of both her official residence as sector Minister at Cantonments and her private residence at Abelekpe in Accra, where the alleged larceny occurred between July and October 2022.

Since the announcement of the arrest and the subsequent search of her residence, the OSP has been the subject of numerous media reports.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 26, the Special Prosecutor urged the public to disregard the circulating rumours.

When the investigation into Cecilia Dapaah is concluded, the company said it will inform the public of its findings.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has taken note of alleged reports, photographs, and videos depicting the steps and actions taken in relation to the case involving former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources Cecilia Abena Dapaah.

The OSP has not disclosed, published, or caused to be disclosed or published any report, recordings, or photographs detailing the steps and actions it has taken and the results of those steps.

The OSP advises the public to disregard any report, video, or image purporting to depict the steps and actions taken by the OSP and the results of such steps and actions.

The OSP will inform the public of the investigation's conclusion and any subsequent actions taken by the Office.
