The Person Who Introduced NPP’s Break The 8 Doesn’t Have Sense - KKD

Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD), a renowned Ghanaian broadcaster, has stated that the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 'breaking the 8' agenda for the 2024 elections makes no logic.

According to him, the individual responsible for the NPP's slogan "Break the Eight" lacks common sense.

In an interview with TV XYZ, KKD criticised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and accused him of failing to uphold his promise to combat galamsey, or illegal mining.

He stated, "Things that you were supposed to do to break the eight, if you would have done it there would be no need for a campaign, because of galamsey you bet with your presidency, you people should play the time that the president said that he will put his president on a bet to fight galamsey for me, who are you trying to deceive?"

He stated that the president's failure to deliver on this crucial issue has called into doubt the veracity of government promises.

KKD stated, "The person who coined the phrase 'breaking the 8' lacks common sense; you should mention the person's name for me. We have both book sense and common sense."

He continued, "Imagine you married a wife, but during the marriage, you were unable to buy her anything, she became dirty and all of her clothes were torn, and you neglected your children."You were unable to take those who were ill to the hospital, and when you decided to depart, someone else came to marry her...Then you realise that now is the moment to be kind to her... Why didn't you do those things initially, you idiot?"

Since the establishment of the Fourth Republic in 1992, the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have alternated in authority every eight years.

Prior to the 2024 election, the NPP has established a goal labelled "breaking the 8" to break this jinx by retaining power in 2024.
